Integrative x-ray management course

Course Description

This course is intended for x-ray screener supervisors, trainers and managers aiming to improve their knowledge and skills on all aspects of managing the security x-ray screening process. The course will provide students with the decision making and critical thinking skills required to develop, initiate and review effective x-ray screening procedures.

Course Objectives

On completion of this course, the successful student will have an understanding of:

How screening operations have been influenced by significant incidents
The range of issues involved in operational screening requirements
The significance of training requirements in X-Ray screening
Key issues and challenges facing screening operation today, including the selection, initial training plan, training experience, continual testing, job satisfaction and job status of screeners.
Different contemporary approaches to the development of x-ray screening strategy
How to plan and implement effective X-Ray training and testing
Strategic tools and techniques needed to determine screener competencies and to enhance their detection skills
Additional screening technologies and methodologies that can be used to enhance an x-ray screening operation.

Course Structure

The course is made up of Classroom, E-Learning & Assessment stages. Students aiming to gain credits from Middlesex University must complete all stages.

Classroom Stage
The classroom stage involves 3 days of intensive training from the SSTC’s team of expert security tutors. The tutors will impart their knowledge and skills using their own experience in the security industry as well as through the use of advanced security technology made available to them through Renful Premier Technologies.

E-LearningStage
The E-Learning stage of the course involves 12 weeks of online self-learning. The student is provided a referral bibliography and the use of a range of E-learning technologies made available by Renful Premier Technologies from which they will gain the knowledge and skills required to pass the assessments.

Assessment Stage
Assessments will be carried out both during the classroom and e-learning stages of the course.
