Security X-Ray Screening, Training & Monitoring

GBP 680.00, EUR 800.00, SGD 1500.00 per participant

The Threat Environment

Civil transportation infrastructures, including airports and seaports, have proven to be irresistible targets for terrorists, owing to the massive publicity and fear that such attacks generate. These outrages have included hijackings, infiltration of bombs onto aircraft, bombing of ships, and the September 11th suicide attacks.

X–ray screening of baggage is one of the most effective and familiar front–line security measures used to help prevent the infiltration of weapons and explosive devices, because x–ray offers a convenient and unobtrusive way of checking baggage contents in a busy transportation environment.
However, the increasing innovation, sophistication and destructive potential of modern terrorists (armed with conventional, as well as Chemical, Biological and Radiological weapons) means that we must continually monitor these threats and remain vigilant.
It’s important to bear in mind that although security x–ray machines may look very sophisticated, they are essentially just IMAGING SYSTEMS, and NOT automated weapons and explosives detectors. It’s the performance of the staff operating the x–ray equipment that determines how effectively it works.

X–ray Screening Technologies

X–ray screening technologies are widely recognised as an effective tool in the detection of improvised contraband items, explosive devices, weapons and so on. It is commonly known that probability of threat detection relates directly to the level of training and testing of the X–ray operator, and to the design and implementation of procedures in the operational environment. Therefore, it’s vital that training of screening personnel is of the highest possible quality as it has a direct correlation on the competency and effectiveness of the security screening performed.

The seminar

Renful is dedicating this seminar to the promotion of creative thinking in the area of simulation training and testing; and the design of an effective X–ray screening operation.
The seminar will feature informative lectures, multimedia presentations, discussions and expert analysis. Participants will review recently introduced technologies in the area of simulation training and testing of X–ray operators, and will analyse operational requirements for effective detection of threat items.

The knowledge gained from industry experts and the mix of people from a variety of industries provides an important insight into current challenges and the varying experiences of professionals in this field; which leads to an invaluable merging of ideas amongst delegates that would be difficult to acquire under other circumstances.
Feedback from past delegates has proven that knowledge acquired during these seminars has immediately translated into improved procedures and techniques being implemented in their own organisations.

The three days of training culminate in a certificate in Training, Testing and Comparative Performance Monitoring of X–Ray screeners.
