Air Cargo Security Training

The Need

Since the introduction of more stringent Aviation Security regulations by the European Parliament following the terrorist attacks on September 11th 2001, Member States of the European Union (EU) have to ensure that all measures are being taken to deter attempts to place explosive devices, or other items, that can be used to endanger the safety on board passenger or cargo carrying aircraft.

Thousands of companies operating in the Air Cargo industry in the EU Member States have to comply with these regulations under three possible areas: as a Regulated Agent, Air Carrier, or Known Consignor.

Regulated Agents, Air Carriers and Known Consignors have to ensure that their staff, and staff from other appropriate agencies operating on their behalf, are aware of their responsibilities when it comes to aviation security.

The objective of Air Cargo Security Training is to ensure that all relevant personnel involved in the preparation of air cargo can apply a standardised level of preventative aviation security measures, in order to safeguard civil aviation against acts of unlawful interference.

If your company falls into any of these categories, or if you supply temporary/agency staff to any of these categories, then cargo training at the appropriate level is mandatory for your staff.
